The Proposed Hekima University has announced it aims to build a new campus following an agreement with the Crescite Innovation Corporation, a tech organization that delivers impact-driven innovation with decentralized technologies.
Bahati is an estate in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. The East African country, boasting a population of more than 47.6 million, has an increasingly growing tech ecosystem.
According to a statement from the organizations, the proposed new campus would act as a catalyst for the development of blockchain solutions, aided by plans to support the largest library in Africa featuring a tokenization research facility.
Crescite Innovation Corporation was founded by Eddie Cullen, an alumni of Georgetown University and serial entrepreneur.
The Proposed Hekima University, which is the latest Jesuit organization to join Crescite’s fast-growing community of faith-based and educational institutions, is an example of how research institutions can help to drive innovation.
The Proposed Hekima University will be a “center of education, research and intellectual scholarship that provides quality education and spiritual formation to deserving students”, according to the company’s press release.
Crescite combines the collective interest of faith-based communities and impact-related investments to grow a global network of economic activity that is impactful, profitable, and sustainable.
This includes a decentralized finance (DeFi) model with the world’s first faith-based token.
