Father of modern financial derivatives in India talks economics at Horasis meeting in Adelaide

Horasis, the international think tank headquartered in Switzerland, opened up its India Meeting this Sunday, convening its event that will bring together over 300 international leaders.

Speakers at the virtual event include government leaders from India and Australia, and some of the nation’s most well known business executives, including Ashishkumar Chauhan, CEO of the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE).

Chauhan is best known as the father of modern financial derivatives in India, and is considered one of the foremost experts in financial market policies, information technology, organized retail, telecommunications and Indian social issues.

Chauhan said on India’s economic outlook that despite India’s “GDP per capita income being $2,600″, India is the “fourth largest market capitalized country” behind US, China and Japan.

He went on the add about India’s fiscal robustness and resilience to the effects of COVID, that in spite of sharp spikes in oil prices, inflation remained “under 5%, which to be in single digits for inflation for a country like India was impressive”.

Chauhan was earlier the CEO of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), and he also serves as the member of Governing council of one of the premier B school in India – IIM Raipur.

The executive met with leaders from India and Austalia to discuss how both countries are faring post-COVID.
